Basic information of KVK, Rayagada
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rayagada was established in 2005 over an area of 12.5 ha at Gunupur. It’s operational area is all the 11 blocks of Rayagada i.e Gunupur, Ramnaguda, Padmapur, Gudari, Rayagada, K. Singhpur, Kolnara, Bissam Cuttack, Kashipur, Chandrapur and Muniguda coming under Agro-Climatic Zone: North Eastern Ghat Zone. Krishi Vigyan Kendra is working for farmers and farm women with focus on adoption of new agricultural technologies and skill development in different vocations with the aim of a sustainable livelihood opportunity. The mandates of Krishi Vigyan Kendra are being achieved through introduction of new varieties of crops, yield enhancement, disease pest control above all improvement in agriculture and allied practices in farmers field with the aim of doubling the farmers income of small and marginal farmers. Entrepreneurship development which is a platform to create employment opportunities for rural youths/ school dropouts are also comes under the preview of KVK activity. Lastly production of quality seeds and planting materials is being carried out as per the farmers’ need of the district.
